How singers stay healthy (or, attack of the neti pot)

In my book Unnaturally Green, I describe my daily vocal health regimen. In the video below you'll see a sample of some of the specifics. Most notably, I shove a neti pot up my nose and demonstrate how it works (video journalism at its finest). Hope it's helpful!

  1. Hi Felicia,
On the road? Here's a portable version of the neti pot. At any drugstore buy an "ear syringe" (child version ca. $3.50). In (clean) toothbrush glass mix 1/4 t. salt (if using airline salt/pepper pkg-- don't use pepper) into 1/2 glass warm water. Stir well with pinky, suck some into syringe, squeeze gently into one nostril, drain from other, repeat 3x for a full clean. Morning and evening. (Beats those yogi 'strings. Yuk.)
BTW I'm another Yalie. I've been lapping up your whole "self-publish" routine (to know why, click my blog), but this is my first comment.

  2. I think it is great for people on the phone daily non stop as well. My voice is my job
